I have tried launching the game without SKSE and without any mods enabled. This happens before the Skyrim main menu appears. I have let it set for at least an hour and nothing will happen. The game will launch, however, it will freeze on this screen: zip, but they are only placeholders for ENB preset creators to edit and aren't needed for the ENB to run. Other files are included in the downloaded. Installation entails dragging "d3d11.dll" and "d3dcompiler_46e.dll" into this Skyrim Special Edition folder, which auto generates an enblocal.ini and an enbseries.ini when launched. ENB is more similar to SKSE64 than other mods, as it is installed to ~/Steam/steamapps/common/Skyrim Special Edition instead of ~/Steam/steamapps/common/Skyrim Special Edition/Data.

The problem arises when trying to use ENB, a graphics mod that essentially replaces Skyrim special edition's native post-processing. Same goes for SKSE with any combination of typical mods. When launched with just SKSE, things run absolutely perfectly. This requires a special version of wine which is detailed below. I have installed Skyrim Script Extender 64 and as such launch the game via skse64_loader.exe.

This version is mostly to remove original game post processing by replacing it with custom from enbeffect.fx shader (untweaked, most code from old Skyrim mod) or ReShade/SweetFX.Skyrim Special Edition being played via WineSteam on Lutris. Time of the day, interior and exterior separation, weather system are not available yet. Made all post processing shaders similar or equal to mod for Fallout 4. V0.329: Added cloud shadows effect in its simplest form, few extra fog parameters and rain refraction factor. Added specular parameters for VEGETATION, EYE, OBJECT categories and improved separation of such objects similar to old Skyrim mod.

Disabled mod when Creation Kit is running. V0.330: Added image based lighting effect from old Skyrim mod, fixed bug with clouds transition. Added game ssao parameters for tweaking its amount and make it colorful. V0.331: Added DisableFakeLights parameter to enblocal.ini for switching on/off character light. Added edge antialiasing and two dithering types to enblocal.ini, removed dithering parameter from enbseries.ini. Added EnableDenosier parameter to ssao category, similar to old Skyrim mod. V0.334: Increased performance in places with many objects visible in camera. Implemented backward compatibility of all external shaders with VR optimized versions of them which will be created in future via handling DynamicScaling parameter. V0.338: Added clouds edge parameters for category from old Skyrim mod. This is just the mod with default preset, download customized presets and shaders from the forum or other sites (Nexus). Changed code of animated stars, they use alpha channel to detect stars, with new parameters fixing incompatibility with custom textures of stars and galaxy.
